Our student-to-staff ratio is designed to ensure exceptional care for every child. We maintain a 1:10 mentor-to-student ratio during regular camp activities. For field trips, where safety is paramount, we further reduce this to a 1:5 supervisor-to-student ratio.
Cool Summer Camp is thrilled to receive numerous applications each year from individuals passionate about working with children at our unique camp. Our dedicated staff members possess a rich blend of experience in education and the arts, specializing in mental math, English, painting, and storytelling. They are not only skilled instructors but also deeply committed to nurturing the creativity and intellectual curiosity of every Cool Summer camper.
We believe in a child-centered philosophy, cultivated by our caring and responsible team. We value the dedication of our returning staff and encourage them to pursue ongoing professional development to enhance their skills. Most of our Teachers for the Juinor Classes are Ontario certified. All prospective staff members participate in comprehensive interviews, undergo extensive training, and complete a police background check to ensure the safety and well-being of our campers.
Many of our staff are former campers themselves, eager to return and share their love of learning and the arts with the next generation. The experience they gain working at Cool Summer Camp is truly transformative. Our alumni often reflect on their time at camp as one of the most fulfilling and impactful experiences of their lives.
Yes, we provide an official tax receipt which you can use for claiming purposes.
We ensure the safety and well-being of all our campers, especially those with allergies, we ask that children bring their own lunches and snacks from home. We strongly encourage parents to pack healthy, peanut-free, nut-free, and fish-free options. This allows us to create a safe environment for everyone and gives parents control over their child’s dietary intake. We understand that sometimes a little treat is welcome, so we do provide cheese pizza once a week as a special lunch option.
Our camp boasts fully air-conditioned facilities to ensure a comfortable environment for all campers, regardless of the weather. We understand that busy schedules can make drop-off and pick-up challenging, so we offer extended hours for your convenience. Our doors open as early as 7:30 am for early drop-off, and we remain open until 5:30 pm for late pick-up.
For those needing care outside of our standard camp hours, we offer pre-care (7:30 am – 9:00 am) and post-care (4:00 pm – 5:30 pm) for a nominal fee of $20 per week. Please note that pick-up after 5:30 pm will incur a charge of $30 per 15-minute increment. We strive to provide a flexible and supportive environment for both campers and their families.
We divide the children according to the grades they are entering in September.
We enroll kids from ages 4 to 14 years old.
